Aims of the festival

The Festival was founded in 2004. Each year the number of visitors has doubled, proof enough that the concept of the festival has wide appeal. Perhaps this is because it is an invitation to go on a journey, to discover what we all have in common and what makes each of us different. Every year, the festival organisers choose a different theme, a new culture associated with the guitar. Wherever you travel around the world, the guitar plays a part in every type of music and pervades all cultures. The guitar is the common thread, the medium through which we have chosen to invite you to encounter something different.
